Scotland: Western Highlands & Isle of Skye
Walking Tours with 3 Nights on the Isle of Skye

In the north and west of Scotland lie the Highlands -- moody mountains, Celtic mists and legends, heather-clad hills and sparkling lochs, and a unique mixture of scenic splendor and profound tranquility.

The first base is the coastal town of Gairloch, which offers the outdoor visitor a unique blend of wilderness walking, remote communities steeped in Celtic and Norse history, with comfortable lodging and fine food. Our second base on the Isle of Skye gives more of the same, and includes a boat trip and walk to experience what is perhaps Britain's most dramatic and rugged landscape. Walks cover 3 to 9 miles daily, with ascents up to 1000’.

Scotland: Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides
Walking Tour of the Isles of Skye, Lewis, and Harris

In the north and west of Scotland lie the Highlands -- moody mountains, Celtic mists and legends, heather-clad hills and sparkling lochs, and a unique mixture of scenic splendor and profound tranquility.

And off-shore lie the Hebrides, a myriad of magical islands which beckon you ever-westward to follow the arc of the setting sun as it slides unhurriedly into the Atlantic.

Two nights are spent on the Isle of Skye and three on the Outer Hebridean Isle of Lewis. See the finest prehistoric site in Britain apart from Stonehenge, enjoy the peace and quiet of the sandy beaches, and walk through miles of unspoilt natural beauty.... always with the comforts of modern accommodation and fine food waiting at the end of the trail.

Walks cover from 4 to 7 miles daily, with one 10-miler. Elevation gains are modest –- 400’ to 1500’, with one optionally to 2000’.
